      We are proud of our history and excellence in residential, commercial, and historic masonry restorations. We keep our focus on existing repairs and preserving the life and integrity of your building for many years to come. Our services include all repairs that can preserve your building in a state of arrested decay, or restore your building to 100% as it originally appeared. We also provide chemical pressure cleaning, light abrasive cleaning, and wet/dry sandblasting. We specialize in approved mortar mixes for brick and stone repointing, log cabin rechinking, and stucco textures with an effort made to match the original in color and tooling.

Formstone

FormstoneFORMSTONE WORKERSFormstone is a real-stone finish for new construction and renovation of interiors and exteriors. Natural stone, carefully selected for color and durability, is compounded with the cement used in building skyscrapers, dams, tunnels and structures that must withstand extremes of wear and weather. Formstone is a hand-scribed stucco that must be applied by an extremely talented craftsman.

J.D. Walter and Company, Inc.  has been performing Formstone installation and repairs for three generations. We stock many of the original colors, shades, spares, grits, mica flakes, and tools needed to perform all styles of Formstone. Our specialized skills in this area are sought after by people all over the country, because of our vast experience with Formstone itself. Brick Repointing

brick repointingThe process of repointing includes removing deteriorated mortar and replacing with new joints. This can be achieved by cutting or raking using extreme care not to damage the edges of the surrounding masonry. Each structure, whether brick or stone can be repointed to prevent heat loss, moisture penetration, and interior damage.

We specialize in removing amateur portland repairs, replacing spalling brick with the original type brick, tuck pointing repairs to match the original, as well as performing 100% repointing work with owner’s choice of color and tooling. Also, we will repair your chimney as well.

Stucco

Stucco may also be used to cover less visually appealing construction materials such as concrete, cinder block, or clay brick. Our experience with stucco restorations includes repairing cracks, matching original textures, and recoating with a variety of waterproofing products and choices of color.
